CrossFit do something about it!
PULL-UP name for kipping and butterfly movements was not the smartest choice in my opinion. It provokes quarrels coming out of “old school” strength training guys and they are right!
Pull-up movement incorporates lats and whole shoulder girdle pure strength work.
Kipping and butterfly movements should be for example named “bar body-up” because they use full-body dynamic effort movements coming out of the hips and supported by the upper body work. All these movements together comes with crucial role of whole body coordination and they are more endurance-strength in nature.
Just think about it 🙂
Why not make it reasonable?
Keep it simple.
